Abdessatar Ben Moussa

Abdessatar Ben Moussa was born on November 1, 1951 in Tunis, Tunisia. 
After being postgratuated from public law department, with a bachelor degree in the same field, he obtained the Certificate of aptitude for the profession of lawyer. 
Throughout the years 2001-2004 he was elected as the president of the Tunisian Bar Section as well as the Tunisian National Order of Lawyers throughout 2004-2007.
Between 2005-2008 he gained the presidency of the National Council of the International Union of Lawyers. 
He was the Coordinator of the defense of detainees in the affairs of Mining Basin for one year (2008-2009) and then he was elected as a president of the Tunisian League for the Defense of Human Rights (LTDH) between 2011 and 2016. Likewise, he was a member of the Presidency Council of the Arab Organization for Human Rights since 2012. He was an Honorary President of the LTDH in October 2016 which earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015.
By November 2016 he had been appointed Ambassador of the International Union of Lawyers (for the Peace) and since January 2017 he has been appointed mediator of the Tunisian Republic.
